Victor Barna won 32 World Championship medals, among them 23 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze. His championships include five singles events, eight doubles, three mixed-doubles, and seven team titles. Born August 24, 1911, in Budapest, Hungary; he died of a heart attack, at age 60, on February 27, 1972, in Lima, Peru. He broke his arm in a car wreck at age 26, or who knows how many more medals he would have won.
